We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing Marketing Services team and work on some of our largest and most exciting accounts in North America. As a part of the Marketing Services team, this role will collaborate closely with internal solutions architecture, front-end and back-end development, and product management teams to support business intelligence efforts that assist our clients with strategic decision-making, as well as evolve the way clients use marketing technology and data to enhance their customers’ digital experiences.

What you will do:
Engineer data to support in insight generation and strategic decision-making, informing client marketing programs as well as digital product strategy and product feature enhancement
Write queries and prepare datasets for usage in analysis and data visualizations
Model data, write APIs / connectors and provide back-end development support for marketing automation campaigns, experimentation/testing programs, and audience segmentation and personalization initiatives
Work with business analysts and product management teams to define requirements and feature enhancements for client customer data platforms
Provide QA/UAT on data schema and its ingestion within client customer data platforms
Generate documentation, which may include data architecture diagrams, tracking instrumentation plans, and data roadmaps
What you should have:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant professional experience with reporting responsibilities
Experience designing and building GraphQL schema and contributing to the development of GraphQL APIs
Extensive knowledge of building REST APIs
Prolific experience working with SQL and relational databases
Proficiency in object-oriented programming and experience applying modern design patterns
Solid understanding of how data and BI can support digital marketing, user experience, product development, and e-commerce use cases
Experience working in an agile or scrum software development environment
Functional programming experience in Python, R, or other programming languages is nice to have
Big bonus points if you have worked with the Optimizely digital experience platform (formerly Episerver) and/or Optimizely Data Platform (ODP)
