Content Strategist

What we are looking for:

Someone who will imagine how cutting-edge technologies can be applied to develop content strategies that address client needs, from the creation of a digital ecosystem to social media strategy. He/She/They also be responsible for planning and supervising the creation of multiplatform content. In addition, he/she/they will support our clients in the integration of content best practices. A firm understanding of user experience and strong search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are preferred.

Back to the role:

What you will do: 

  • Audit content and identify gaps in our customers’ content to recommend new topics
  • Conduct keyword and SEO research to understand customers’ needs in collaboration with SEO specialists
  • Work in collaboration with strategists to map content with audience personas and stages of awareness in sales funnel
  • Follow industry-related news and generate ideas around trending topics
  • Create and maintain a brand style for consistency
  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure timely publication
  • Schedule social media posts
  • Assign blog posts to writers
  • Proofread and edit written pieces before publication
  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles or create multimedia content.
  • Monitor web traffic and engagement (e.g. conversions and bounce rates)
  • Review and update published content as needed
  • Work with other strategists, the technology lead and creative teams.
  • Learn about the client’s business, including financials, industry, competitive landscape, marketing channels and strategic direction. Provide recommendations for content.
  • Establish key messages for audience segments, ensure that content is aligned with business goals.
  • Determine best ways to engage users, increase customer loyalty, generate leads, brand awareness.

 What you should have:

  • Ability to perform a content audit
  • Basic understanding of HTML and web publishing
  • Ability to define content strategy goals and choose the correct keywords to target based on those goals
  • An understanding of local SEO (if applicable) and of SEO ranking factors
  • An understanding of how different types of keywords (long-tail, medium-tail, etc.) correlate with different stages of the sales funnel
  • An understanding of how to structure authority content
  • An understanding of how to properly link (both internally and externally)
  • Ability to utilize social media to properly promote content (and build backlinks)
  • Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools (e.g. Moz and Google Keyword Planner)
  • Experience using social media for business
  • Solid writing and editing skills in English
  • Time-management skills
    • Ability to properly define a Content Differentiation Factor (CDF)
    • An understanding of how social media and email marketing work together with content marketing
    • Ability to properly track and update content over time to generate ROI
    • Proven work experience as a Content Strategist, Content Manager or similar role
    • A portfolio of previous work
    • Experience in project management is a plus
    • Knowledge of Content Management Systems
    • Basic understanding of HTML and web publishing
